the competition was fairly week though i think. if i remember correctly my AI basically just evenly distributed my units on any planet bordering at least one territory i didn't own, then invaded any planet within range that it had more than a 10 unit advantage on.
the guy who got first place said his AI made moves completely at random but i'm not sure i believe that
