Weirdly there was a bit of a boom over the past few years; shows like adventure time, gravity falls were almost universally loved, however there doesn't seem to be anything new coming out anymore.
What's particularly strange is that these shows seemed to do quite well, I followed gravity falls quite intently and it definitely made its money back, but publishers don't seem to be picking up any more animated shows.
