if that smell bothers you, you can either look for cow feta, it's the most common type here, or soak the feta in water for a few hours. it drastically changes the taste and removes the pungent smell. people with stomach issues who can't eat salty foods do this as a way to be able to still eat feta. the end result might be your thing or it might not. at the least you'll be able to get a big piece of feta and keep it in the fridge for a couple of weeks or more without being worried it'll start smelling. and if it's bland it's not a big deal, mozzarella is bland and no one complains
oh, well i didn't know the cheese container was a whole thing, i thought you meant a container i set aside for keeping cheese in. i don't think i've seen anything like the things that show up on google here, but i've never went looking.
