How in the world would humans "come up" with a god? You mean inventing a LARP. So everything comes from humans is what you are saying. There is actually no god if humans don't "come up" with one.
God is sovereign, He reveals Himself to us, we do not chose Him and we do not "invent" Him. Humans did not create the heavens and the earth, and we also did not create ourselves. In fact humans have absolutely no clue what this place "earth" even is, or where it is, how all of this world and life was actually created. It's beyond our comprehension complex and intelligent designed. More complex and intelligent than anything the human civilization could do. And most importantly, we do not create life.
We invent stories about it, we invent false man-made gods (paganism) in it, but we forget that there is one true God who made all of this for real, not just figuratively or mythological. A person, a sovereign personality, actually made all of this here. And there might be a manual that He gives us, a preserved word throughout millennia, and it might be called "the Book". And since God is the truth, I think the truth does not hide, I think the truth presents itself directly in plain sight. Therefore I think God tells me directly who He is, that He is the truth, and will never allow that someone else calls himself "the truth".
All I need to do is follow the Book, in which He tells me that He is the truth. There is no other explanation for this reality, and no mysticism or paganism will ever come close to matching these criteria. I worship the true living God, because He, the truth, presented Himself to me in the Book. It is written. Therefore I am perfectly justified before God, the true living God.
