She figured that Boris’ interest in Nikki made him an easy target for her due to her close resemblance to her younger cousin. She had even offered to wear her hair in twintails to further the resemblance, though Cassie pushed back against that idea.
The biggest positive of Lexi's plan is that no violence would be needed. Her abilities when boosted by Obsidian Rush were deadly to men in their primes, let alone an older man like Boris. They’d spend the night with Dmitri and his father, nature would take its course, and when Boris inevitably croaked, it’d look like he died of a heart attack. Dmitri would inherit everything, and after a week or two, Cassie would approach him about buying that building.
Foolproof. And all Lexi wanted in return for her role in the plan, was for Cassie to continue arranging for the disposal of the bodies of the men who fell victim to her. Someone was bound to ask questions eventually if young men kept disappearing, but for now, it was doable.
