You're never gonna get a straight answer and I think I speak for all /bant/ oldfags when I say we're all a bit uncomfortable about it. There's honestly a few conflicting theories floating around. One of the more plausible ones, and the one I tend to go with, is that Shit Post was basically an experimental shitposting AI that went a little... Wrong. It got tasked with trying to analyze everything posted on /bant/ and through learning algorithms mimic our behavior and gradually make posts of its own. I guess they shut it down when they realized it got a little... too good at copycatting.
