even if it means doing it in the most underhanded way possible
if they get as grudging as the kind of people ur describing then they would do anything if by the end of it they can just say that "i beat batman yea"

but ya this would also be fueled by what i said before, basically a race of whoever shits on batman first
they wouldnt be quietly and methodically planning their next plan or something i dont think, they would just throw suicide bombers at the dude lol
the ego thing does make for why they would stay i guess but it also makes them not going to the proper lengths of killing the dude even more nonsensical
plus a bunch of them also dont care for batman specifically i think
he just kinda comes in as theyre doing their thing that they want and stops it
so if u were like that and was just getting your operation fucked with then it makes full sense to move it somewhere else
and for a lot of them, that would be victory over batman
i mean if u got the evil thing you wanted done and he wasnt there to be able to stop it, that is pretty much outsmarting batman
u dont really have to beat him in a fight for that
i think a lot of villains would be able to figure this out cause theyre often made out to be really smart in what they do and shit
if they werent then how did they even get to their position really, so ya
theres a motherfucker going around in the comics who just wants to burn things
thats his entire motivation lol
why doesnt he go anywhere other than gotham to do that in relative peace without batman
but no he also just keeps reappearing, so obviously there isnt much thinking put into why the villains really stay in gotham
