another things is that the "observer" detector HAS to interfere with the experiment for the simple reason that it is IMPOSSIBLE to detect a "single photon" without interfering with it. even a photo-multiplier NEEDS to take that photon away from the experiment in order to detect it.
to my knwoledge even with modern "solid state" detectors you have to take that supposedly "single" photon away (disturb it) in order to detect it. but maybe I'm just retarded and that level of confidence really is high enough...
