Moe originally started in the 2000s & nips learned the "cute anime girl" phenomena was a quick cash grab. The phenomenon can be seen with vtubers. I blame the janny trannies since they are all trannies who watch moe trash. I watch moe for the artwork, animation, plot, & story. Trannies however take their love of moe to cringe levels.
