I'm not entirely convinced that porn/masturbation is actual cause of this widespread miasma of depression in young men (and women too). I'm more convinced, rather, that it's a symptom, but not the cause. I mean, yeah. all that stuff in the OP and other posts are valid and raise good points (though how scientifically accurate they are remains somewhat dubious), but beyond all that, objectively speaking we live in horrendously sick times. Utterly bleak future economically, socially, politically, in almost every system and strata of society. Essentially an ecosystem specifically created (or perhaps designed) to foster hopelessness all around.
Surely you can't tell me that looking at ass, pussies and cocks is the sole reason for all of this. Nonsense. There is VERY good reason to be depressed beyond the simple physiological response to cumming and the mental after-consequence of it. But it's just another symptom. I mean people aren't really turning to this stuff because they really want to. They're turning to it because it offers an escape from this hell world (and ironically feeds into in a negative loop).
If the structures for a healthy, well-functioning society still existed (e.g. a high chance of finding a woman, starting a family, establishing a reasonably good career), you'd find that most guys would ditch porn very quickly. But stopping jerking off isn't going to fix these larger society-wide problems. It just makes you feel less bad about it. But then, what's the point? Why even bother if society is STILL broken, and just getting worse?
Really, it needs a total collapse and reset so people are FORCED to go back to the way we were supposed to be, and interact. Not looking at porn and cooming won't do that all. And most of us I think understand this on a deep level. Self improvement is an exercise in futility if it doesn't yield success in improving society, so the self-improved you can actually partake in a meaningful capacity, not this clown world shit.
