Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Jesus first responds with the argument that all people for whom the word of God have come are sons of God, with a reference to Psalms 82.
Psalms 82:6 (KJV) I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
This verse establishes in the old testament the Father/son relationship between God and those keepers of his word and laws. As a defense of his doctrine
Matthew 23:8-9 (KJV) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
And then he simply admits to being the son of God.
