Even if you wish to change them it is often not worth to make such “allies” as ultimately they will put you on the road to sin. It is up to those individuals with hardened hearts to back to the lord but for you I recommend wearing the full armor of god.
Furthermore homosexuality in itself is a sin; I don’t know how anyone who is actively homosexual can ever call themselves a “good Catholic.” That is just paying lip service and someone who does so is still in risk of damnation if they do not confess and make an actual effort to abstain from such things.
