Speaking of art, do you think that pieces which involve nudity can be called artistic? Pic related features a beautiful kimono, for example, and it is somewhat tasteful. I like the idea that you can use the human body to create something pleasing to the eye with it.
>have you ever heard someone say it irl?Not really. I've heard people vaguely suggest it. The curent environment doesn't allow for such things to be said out loud, though. "Traditional" women are associated with the patriarchy and all that. It is also quite ironic that many of those who want such women (on 4chan at least) are more or less addicted to porn.
>how many portrayals of the industry cam you say are positive though? That's a good point. But the stars themselves are portrayed as heroes or martyrs, people who "sacrifice" themselves for their audience. And it's the stars whom people want to become.
But you are right. They have been warned, by people from inside nonetheless. They just refuse to listen.
>why do some people remain poor thru generations, and seemingly no matter how hard they try?I think it all boils down to sheer luck. Some people are in the right place at the right time and they succeed. Others simply don't have that luck, despite them being just as capable as people. That and you can work as hard as you are able to, if you don't have at least a vague plan then it won't amount to much. You can have a lot of money from a lot of hard work but it's useless if you can't spend it intelligently.
Now of course, the system makes it harder and harder from people to lift themselves out of poverty, so there's that too.
>the pressing issues remain unsolvedFrom the little I know about it, the theory itself is sound. Why pay taxes to fund something which you yourself may only need to use once or twice throughout your life? That being said, it also implies that the bill is affordable to the common individual, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
