The differences around the world are marginal before the advent of modern civilisaiton.
Modern civilisation is the result of centralisation in the North Sea area.
See civilisation for what it simply is of that the areas which ARE DOING centralisation; making a large interconnected civilisation, and areas which ARE NOT DOING IT.
So for thousands of years we have people DOING IT in South Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Mediterranean - and what are the results??

Stagnant tax rackets going nowhere. Systems of oppression, in fact rather than advancing you could say they were DIGGING HOLES.
There were free humans living healthy lives outside, and then there were these tax rackets regressing man, doing damage, developing systems of stagnation which held back mankind.
Centralisation happens in the North Sea area, and they develop modern civilisation.
Talking about Christianity is like talking about which colour the curtains are and then attributing it to the curtains - though of course christianity plays a large role in greasing wheels of scientific progress, but ultimately it is not science which drives civilisation but it is a people who drive both science and civilisation in a big feedback-loop.
And furthermore, in actuality much of the North Sea area doing this, of trying their hand at centralisaiton which leads ot the first actually advanced civilisation, which now spans the globe of modern civilisation, was achieved in A FIGHT AGAINST CHRISTIAN CHURCH POWER.
