When quizzed by the physician on duty Amy had made up a story about feeling unwell and theorised that she must have become delirious and passed out, this seemed to appease the doctor but the truth of the matter was that she actually had no idea what had happened. Amy remembered fragments of the ritual, flashing lights and colours, a feeling of falling, an unsettling recollection of an otherworldly presence. The world is vast and complex and it seemed that ghosts, witches and talking toads were just the tip of the iceberg, for now Amy thought it best to step away from the paranormal and focus on matters a little more corporeal, after all Christmas is fast approaching and there are so many people to see, cards to write and gifts to buy.
After discharging herself from the infirmary Amy returned to the room she shared with Colby Jefferson and crawled into bed, it felt like weeks since she'd been here and she quickly wrapped herself up on her partners side and got comfortable on Colby's cushion, the smell of her shampoo filling Amy's lungs. "This is where I'm supposed to be", she thought to herself as she pulled the duvet up under her chin and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
At some point during her slumber the redhead would cry out as she rolled over a cactus that someone had placed under the covers on her side of the bed. Immaculate Connection would reunite shortly after as Colby Jefferson arrived and would spend the next hour straddling her fiance and painstakingly pulling needles out of her back with a pair of tweezers. Despite the discomfort Amy believed that perhaps this was divine punishment and vowed to do better.
