I'm really late to the party, but I seriously can't understand why people are so against a few niggers kneeling for the national anthem. Nobodys rights were violated, and no laws were broken because of someone kneeling, but Cheeto in Chief goes up on Twitter and demands that kneeling NFL players get fired. Then retarded flyover state uneducated baby boomers voice their oh-so-important "facts" saying that kneeling for a pledge is disrespectful to a country. It's not. Committing treason against a country is disrespect. Assassinating a president is disrespect. Kneeling in front of retarded middle-aged men who pay for football in 2017 isn't disrespect.
I think this all stems back to clapistan's straight up creepy amount of blind patriotism, hence why I posted this in r/banter. The citizens of this country can point out one little flaw in any other country, but speak a word against the Land of the Free(ish) and the general populace will shake with rage. Since the early 20th century, our citizens have been taught to believe that there are no countries above us. We are at the tip-top of the food chain. There's a sorta-common misconception in the States that Australia's a third world country, which feeds into this. Many Americans don't realise that America is just as free as any other comparable country. If you say "Fuck the government" in Germany, nothing will happen. You won't be punished by guillotine. I've personally seen relatives of mine absolutely shocked that some consider us to be a third world country. Some cannot simply grasp that America isn't the best. They can't grasp that many countries have been able to pull universal healthcare off perfectly. To them, it's like you're destroying the core of all their patriotism; the feeling of godlike superiority internationally.
Again, sorry I'm late to this. I haven't given much thought to this until recently.
TLDR: Theres nothing wrong with kneeling, and americans have extreme amounts of blind patriotism
