But lately I'm seeing about 2 per year, auctioning in the $300 and up range. I'd guess new blood getting into the hobby in my case. I don't actually collect the things, they're just inventory to sell. I think the 79'er might be near-unique. I've only ever seen one come up for sale and I bought it for a couple hundred dollars iirc. But I just got it to resell. It's a cool item, but not my area of interest.
I hear you on the gains thing. On the one hand stuff got super expensive, but on the other hand my own collection mooned. So mixed feelings. Mirin those gains on sling bullets though. Damn! You've got a few great ones and it's kinda nice to know you'll profit if you decide to ever sell.
