I disagree. If countries went to war with each other over the slightest disagreement we would go nowhere. Diplomacy on the other hand solves many problems, and although it sometimes runs into some deadends, this is mostly due to bureaucracy and upscaling.
if you apply diplomacy to the couple it's a far more efficient way of dealing with the issue. Let's say your wife has a drinking problem. Well, rather than beating her up (which is a loss of time AND also illegal), you can attempt to resolve this issue through patience and co-operation.
