>And come to think of it: is it even a valid marriage?Any marriage where one or more party becomes a Christian is valid (the non Christian party is sanctified by the Christian one of they were already married) but if a non Christian leaves the Christian is not bound by law to them and may only remarry another Christian for life.
Also note that there is no such thing as annulment/divorce between 2 believers in the Church regardless of legal status, and that remarrying while your "ex" lives is adultery.
