I consider myself lucky cause I have both my parents around and they aren't divorced, although I'm more center than right I've come to realize that most of my Lefty friend's that aren't schizos pretty much had a nuclear family.
Maybe single parenthood leaves people with some sort of reliance on the State as a surrogate father, which lead to people push more communist ideas.
