There's a monotony to it and I've grown a hatred for computers.Get an adjustable standing desk and/or do isometrics at your workstation (static squat just barely above your chair or adapt some of the techniques from pic related). Take regular breaks to move around properly. Makes a huge difference.
Regarding books, physical books are objectively superior for anything other than library portability, instant access, and text searches. Something with an e-ink display is a good investment if you plan on reading a lot of ebooks.
