Separate from that, you generally want to trade noncorrelating assets (eg you wouldnt long KO and PEP at the same time on a trade, but an investment strategy might be sector based and diversified), and paying attention to your maximum drawdown. Remember that mathematically a loss hurts more than a win helps (going from $100 to $110 is a 10% gain but only a 9.1% loss to go back to $100 again)
