i don't really think so though. showing this stuff to friends happens incidentally because that's where the conversation leads, but throwing it out on a subreddit happens because there are people actively seeking out the opportunity to share/browse collections
well sure, but i can't imagine how any collection would ever look interesting after you've already seen 10-20 of them is my point. i'd want to see a friends' book collection because it's going to bbe interesting literally no matter what they have since it says something about them and can spark a discussion no matter what, but if the collection belongs to stranger then i genuinely cannot think of a single combination of books they could have that would evoke any reaction from me at all
