>>17646629yeah they leave those planes out there and slowly strip them of useable parts until there is nothing but the airframe which they then they scrap it. its a terrible fate for the old warbirds. the ones that they dont scrap are just left there waiting for decades. some planes like the F-4 and the F-16 were brought back to be used as target drones. some planes like the YC-14 are left there.
