i think the advice about not being embarrassed about your own weird interests is true, i was always afraid to talk about stuff like that in the past for fear of judgment but people like josie or jon or even chris have showed me that's unwarranted. exactly as you said, it's not weird if you are confident
i don't have any trauma to share because my life is quite uneventful, i'll keep it in mind about not trying to be a therapist. my natural instinct would be to let them open up to me but i guess that is the wrong move
