We also became sedentary to accomodate grain farming which meant building cities, which inevitably leads to race-mixing because cities eventually exhaust their local resources and instead of moving, choose to send armies out into neighboring territories to conquer them and take their women/children as slaves. Repeat the process enough times with enough neighbors and suddenly you have a booming metropolis full of mutts. This city living and muttification first started in the Middle East, and just look at the results.
