>>20988737You're thinking of the traditionally nomadic Bedouins that exploded from Arabia after Islam united them. Maghreb Arabs are also nomadic but without benefiting from oil or the cultural diffusion that comes with conquest, and still rather backwater as a result.
The Levant "Arabs" (some don't identify as such) were a part of classical antiquity, and are noted for their commercial prowess to this day - even Hitler gave them a shout out in Mein Kampf. Tend to get mistaken for other ethnicities in the west.
