Family DNA sites are now being used to track down close relatives of rapists. They just upload the DNA from the rape kit and use the matches to form a family tree and go from there. I guarantee you have some relatively close cousins on sites like Ancestry or GEDmatch as we speak. It's actually really easy to obtain your DNA without you knowing, once the police obtain a warrant.
