The other explanation, and this is the one that makes the most sense to me, is that it's a way of hyping it up by asking “do you want this or what” as in both need it and keep it mean yes (need it means yes I need it and keep it means I'm keeping this)
What do you think? Or is there a better explanation that I'm missing here?
