>>13286205might help. uni libraries are top comfy in my experience
well i just met them both for the first time like two days ago. i don't think it's that he doesn't try to accommodate it as much as he doesn't know how to and is pretty strict in general
>>13286209that seems to be the approach so far but i think it's because he hasn't had an opportunity to properly understand it as of yet, not because he's unwilling to do so. during the session i asked for some clarification on the adhd situation since he said they recently started thinking he might have it and plan to get him tested, to which he said they're pretty sure he has it because he gets the order of letters wrong a lot so that's about the level of knowledge we're working with currently.
fortunately it seems that he puts a lot of faith in me in general and particularly on this topic since i've said while i never got tested i'm fairly confident i have adhd as well, so it's just a matter of coming up with a good way to present the information.
i could of course just say "yeah let him listen to music when he's studying and take 5 minute breaks every 15 minutes if he feels the need" but i think it'll be better for everyone involved if i can explain the mechanics behind this advice a bit, especially since i don't think the kid understands it well himself and definitely struggles to express his thoughts even if he does get it
