Yet if I did, I would feel very unrepresented by my government.

I think it's time people wise up and stop voting with ballots and start voting with their wallet.
Continue to pay all of your taxes until we can form proper groups to make sure everyone stops the same year in order to avoid arrest.
1% stops and you all get arrested.
5% stops and some get arrested and made examples of.
10% or more stops and we shut down the federal government.
