Poverty ravishes the admittedly small urban population, while steppe nomads constantly disturb the peace with routine raids. While politically, the two kingdoms claim to have complete dominion over their territory, it is more so a relationship of parasitism, as the nomads does not pay taxes to the rulers of the twin nations. The two provinces are viewed as poor and backwater, but a royal marriage between the two threatens to create a superpower out of the poverty-stricken yet resource rich lands. There are also rumors spreading across the steppes that a religion would tame the steppe nomads in hopes to sqeeze more support coming from the locals. This angered the nomads and increased the intensity of raids, thus wearing the two kingdoms’ forces.
8. Parador has been split into two nations due to a successful coup. The first is The Kingdom of Para, a poorly developed rural country with a massive reserve of manpower and natural resources. The nation that split from Parador is called The Dorian State or “Dor” for short. It’s a democratic nation that heavily relies on trade and industrialization to cope with their low population. Due to this, the relations between the two states are growing ever bitter by the month.
