Now if his surname were Greenberg or Goldstein, that would set off the jewdar, but very few given names matter. Funny enough, the ones that give it away are as far from Hebrew as you can get. Larry comes to mind, for example. Anyone with a given name Laurence will keep the full name, but a semite will have no cultural compass that tells him "Larry" doesn't mesh. Name like that immediately makes me think the guy is a pedophile or his parents were smoking meth when they named him.
