>>19377277i tend to look at references to see how to draw something. with my style i also go on sites like pixiv to see how the japanese draw funny animals. i have never drawn a bat before, but here is an image of me going about trying to draw one. you could try the anime style head, but it might look more generic (i usually save those styles of head for cats). fruit bats have a more conventional dog shaped snout, while vampire bats have a more squished and pointy looking nose. i use a circle and an oval for the cranium for anime and realistic style heads respectively, then work out the snout from there.
