Honestly I much rather prefer programming to networking, since you're actually building something, it's more fun to program, but again thinking I would have to read someone's else code, everyday, etc etc just makes me want to kill myself. I don't really give a crap about technology in general though.
I'm also not anti social, which is one of the things that also sort of repel me from programming, I'm shy? yes, but I like talking to people, I'm not an introvert, in fact being isolated has broken myself mentally.
