If you dislike university then how about you try for a college (not the same thing like what they have in the US, over here a college is a school where you can learn a trade). I believe you can even become a pharmacist like that, but not one who can prepare medicine.

That partial year thing sounds better than repeating first year all over again. Didn't you say that it's six years in total? Are you sure you want to stick with it until the very end?
