5- Elicitation / info farming post: This is when the shill wants to collect information about the users, so he makes a post expecting that people will comment on it providing usable information. For example, the shill picks a photo of a political spectrum test, and then ask what are users political spectrum. It is more than that: Shills may want to get confidential information about you to use it against you. For example, they can make a post in 4chan with a photo of a woman with a confederate symbol with the comment "show your face guys", expecting you show your face so they archive it on their database. Another examples would be "why do you support candidate X", "what do you think about X", "show your palm" (to catch digitals), and so on... The American and Anglo governments (probably) have "specialists" on "alt-right" behaviour, and sometimes it may be useful to them to make assessments on the "alt-right" so to try to comprehend their behaviour. A good way to act in those situations is to provide a false feedback to them.
Also, sometimes they want you to assume something because in their minds that assumption may incriminate you. For example, they can accuse you of something like "you are inciting violence against Jews", or "you are inciting for domestic terrorism", or something like that, expecting you will agree with them, so they may pick up your assumption and use it against you eventually.
Another example of a potential shill tactic that happened on Telegram with me: They come up in your box asking what is a group you are inserted in about. So if you say it is something like nazism, Hitler appreciation, national socialism, that may be what they just need in their minds to try to incriminate you.
Want another example? Picking up females to try to get information from males. Female "nazis" online are generally (or always) feds.
