>>21839840São Paulo is kinda boring but I was there for 15 days and it was fine. But yeah you gotta keep your wits about you. A guy on a bike literally had his hand on my phone but he dropped it and just biked on. But Sao Paulo has enough neighborhoods you can feel be very safe. I never really felt uneasy at night except when I specifically was walking around Centro just to see the atmosphere. But yeah not that much to do. The safe areas are cozy but mostly just hipster coffee shops. Centro is fun to walk around and see these concrete monsters that probably looked so modern and cool back in the day.
Rio is rio. It's not really that great because the crime is so much less segregated into zones than SP. Plus it's just too overcrowded and filled with tourists.
BH is kinds just boring, like a smaller SP. But it's cozy for a few days just going to cafes and taking in the city. Plus it's by Ouro Preto and I spent a couple days there.
But yeah the megacities aren't the place to go for Brazil. I don't get why Rio still gets so much hype I guess it's just hard because people have a certain fantasy about Rio like you'll just walk down Copacabana and Bossa Nova will be playing and beautiful women will come flirt with you lol
