Lesbian (poofs in general) are about 4-5% of the population. Tranny's are less 1%. So the very, very small sub set of those in long term relationship, stable domestic situations and without backgrounds that would prohibit them to be eligible is negligible compared the the vast majority of straight couples who for whatever reason can't conceive.
protip: it's not mens sperm cont that is the issue in the vast majority of situations - womens 'plumbing' is simply more complex and prone to not working correctly. That's easy to verify with a quick search. So men's sperm donation is often a moot point. It's also why the market in ova and surrogates far outstrips the market in sperm donation.
