dunno, think you're overestimating how popular classic art is. might be kinda common for people to get random pieces like the great wave without thinking about it but i think the percentage of people who could actually tell you who drew it for example is abysmally low
same idea with architecture. lotta people might go say nice shrine or cool castle at random locations but i don't think they actually have much knowledge or passion beyond generally thinking it's better than whatever is in their country
