- go to bed at the same time every night
- wake up at the same time everyday (use an alarm if you have to)
- don't have any caffeine within 6 hours before bedtime
- shower before bed
- don't use any screens within 30 minutes before bedtime (the blue light from screens tricks your brain into thinking it's daytime)
- turn off all social social media within 30 minutes before bedtime
- once you've turned the lights out, don't check any screens, not even to check the time
- don't check the time at all after lights are out
- don't keep any screens within arms reach of your bed (not even your phone)
Bonus:
- read before bed (I don't do this, but it really helps because once you get bored of the book you have no choice but to fall asleep)
