I also asked the guy at Compro Oro several newbie questions and essentially the conclusion was that gold basically has a higher premium / manufacture cost compared to silver, so it's less worth it for smaller budgets like mine. Or at least it's not worth it for small 5/10 g gold bars, but not a problem for Sovereigns and 20 Francs? (maybe I could use some more explanation for this). I'll consider those coins next time perhaps. While silver should have a way lower premium, correct? So the overall cost should be closer to the market price? But anyways, in the end the guy there also suggested the junk silver / 500 lire coins (like
