i think if there'g going to be options then the more the better, but honestly i still think in most scenarios a single premade character is better. you either have to deal with their shit ass dialog options or the silent protag meme and i don't see how either of those is great. better to just let them write actual dialog from the get go
that's what i would think but unfortunately it isn't the case for many people
