>>16316500its literally impossible to not be tied into the "now" and "here" to an extent
feels like they just want you to be a drone that doesnt enjoy anything and goes around doing "the right things"
fits well ig since as far as i know heaven is just a place where you get turned into a robot, at least in the christian one
and its just pretty much impossible to abide by these things in the current world, for the average person at least
i mean maybe way way back in the day it was possible
but imagine being a generic american in the current age and trying to abstain from enjoying your favorite food and entertainment and shit
youre not even given a chance to make the choice to not do these things because its set in stone with where youre born
toddlers get shoved an ipad down their throat nowadays
now when you get to things like extreme drug addiction then i guess i could understand it, ig thats what "excessive pleasure" stands for
but demons making you enjoy stuff like video games to make you lose focus from the afterlife sounds retarded lol, its just inevitable at this point anyway that you grow to do some of those things
even then you can enjoy the things in this world and still have a vision of the afterlife and make the "right" choices (whatever the fuck that means honestly)
and its not like these things necessarily draw people away from the afterlife
people could end up being grateful for being here because theyre given things such as the food they like and the music they love, and that can be what makes them keep making the "right" choices and reaffirm that theres an almighty god out there thats looking out for them, why not just teach people to keep trying to enjoy things because its what was given to you, while making sure to be grateful for it because its god who gave you them?
i mean what if somebody just decided to say fuck it and kill someone and then themselves because they had nothing in this world that they derive pleasure from
