The problem with organized religion is that it necessarily wraps whatever good knowledge it contains in a framework that prevents its followers from enacting meaningful change in anything

Oh, and the belief that God wrote the Bible doesn't help matters because nobody bothers to ask why any particular thing in there is true (most can be derived from fundamental principles)
History has shown it's laughably easy to subvert traditions when nobody remembers why they exist
