When you keep such a cargo ship mostly stationary instead of using it to go back and forth countless times between ports, it'll stay okay for a very long time.
Also the cost of maintaining it is much lower when you can fix shit yourself without having an army of insurance experts and governmental agencies busting your balls after every move.
