I've seen a good number of those small thin silver ingots and chopped-off chunks for sale on eBay, being sold by metal-detectorists or small-scale dealers located in Ukraine, Poland and Russia IIRC. They usually say the silver pieces are "Viking" which I didn't believe, attributing things to the Vikings is simply a better way to advertise and sell artifacts than accurately attributing them the the more obscure and forgotten cultures who actually made the items. I never really understood who in fact did make and use those silver bars as money though, so you just solved lots of mysteries for me! I really appreciate it fren thank you, and if you have anything else you want to share I'd love to learn more, i can't get enough of this kind of knowledge.
