Probably the most famous gnostic and dualistic religion even by normies, thanks to video games, Manichaeism was a major Gnostic religion that was founded by the Iranian prophet Mani (in Persian: مانی ,Syriac: ܡܐܢܝ ,Latin: Manichaeus or Manes) (c. 216–276 AD) in the Sasanian Persian Empire. Manichaeism taught an elaborate dualistic cosmology describing the struggle between a good, spiritual world of light, and an evil, material world of darkness. Through an ongoing process which takes place in human history, light is gradually removed from the world of matter and returned to the world of light whence it came.
Mani believed that the teachings of Buddha, Zoroaster, and Jesus were incomplete, and that his revelations were for the entire world, calling his teachings the "Religion of Light."
>Catharismhttp://gnosis.org/library/cathtx.htmCatharism was the last successor of a long list of late antiquity-early middle ages gnostic christian dualistics faiths like the Paulicians and the Bogomolists, inheritors of the knowledge of the ancient Valentinian, Sethian and Manichan beliefs. The books of Paulicians and Bogomolists are long lost, but the Cathar books (either heavily inspired by them, our utright translation of the lost book) instead survived, also thanks to the Catholic inquisition who saved them with the goal of refute them.
Like most gnostic faiths that predate it, Catharism was dualistic, and considered the Old Testament the work of Satan himself, just like the material world and all'its degeneracy you know well.
