>>15435052First you have to understand the various schisms, and I'm talking about the ones pre 1034. I'd start there. Now, that being said, they share a lot of the same Magesterium of the Early Church Fathers, the Magesterium being the written and oral traditions of the ONE true Church that Christ left us via St. Peter when He said, "You are the rock upon which I will build My Church", don't even bother looking into any "Christian sect" post P*otestant Reformation/E*lightenment. Christ left us ONE Church, not 37,000 denominations, but instead there are various Catholic and Orthodox synods, it's not just Roman Catholic and Orthodox, it's much more complicated. Now people might call this a LARP but after I got out of the Israeli Foreign Legion (US military), I went back to Iraq as a foreign volunteer with the Kurdish Peshmerga and Dwekh Nawsha during the ISIS conflict and got to spend a lot of time with Assyrians and Syriac Catholics when I was with the Dwekh Nawsha (amn Assyrian Christian militia in northern Iraq) and the services I attended felt closer to the orthodox Mass than a Roman Catholic Mass. It was a great experience and even greater feeling of actually picking up an AK for Christ
