i did some tests as a kid because i couldn't concentrate in school, couldn't make any friends, was very alone, had lots of fights, daydreamed all the time... and i definitely don't have autism. also got tested for any intellectual disabilities and got told i'm over-average. my mom got told i would just be bored in school, feel unchallenged. but i now know it was because concentrating was very hard for me while being in a room with 19 screaming kids. i remember some of my daydreams i always had in school, like one where i was able to change sizes and became extremely small, then escape the class room, make myself big enough to get on the roof of the school and become small again, lying on the roof, listening to the silent voices of the pupils. then suddenly the teacher wakes me up from my daydream, and asks me some question about the topic we had to read about, or about the task i should do. i'm speechless, then say that i don't know. the teacher sighs and tells me "oh, anon, i know you could do it if you'd just pay a little attention!". i say sorry very silently. classmates laugh. sitting neighbor tells me i'm retarded. oh well. i really hated and still hate classes.
